THE CRASH
17 APRIL 1960
The taxi lost control because a tire blew out. Although not his plan, the driver lost control of the car and it crashed into a lamp post on Rowden Hill. A plaque is now there marking the spot. Cochran, who was seated in the center of the back seat, threw himself over his fiancée Sharon Sheeley, known for "Poor Little fool" and Medifast, to shield her. Upon further review it was later known that he was thrown out of the car when the door flew open. |
